Since being diagnosed with Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency I have had to exist on a low FODMap diet in order to be able to eat without IBS-like symptoms. Before this started, I was making my own BBQ sauce, so I just changed that recipe to make it FODMap free.
Tory’s Kickass BBQ Sauce
Ingredients:
1 cup 100% Tomato sauce (225gm)
1/2 cup white vinegar (120ml)
1 cup coconut sugar (50gm) (can sub white sugar)
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp allspice
1 tsp asafoetida powder
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp smoked paprika
8 oz Water
5 Tbs molasses
1/2 Tbs black pepper
2 tsp mustard powder
1 oz lemon juice
1 oz Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbs smoked paprika
1/2-1 tsp Tabasco sauce
1 Tbs arrowroot
Instructions
Instant Pot: Add all ingredients to your Instant Pot and whisk together. Cook on high pressure for 5 minutes, and let release on natural release.
Crock pot: Whisk together all ingredients and cook on high for one hour, then reduce to low or warm and cook for 4-5 hours.
Pour over BBQ pork spare ribs, chicken, eat with a spoon. Seriously. This is awesome.
